It was so nice to see the all the familiar faces and also a pleasure to meet new collectors too.

We are feeling as worn out as Cuthbert right now! he and many other bears found new homes.

Waiting for Santa

Edgar & Bo-Bo

Edgar & Bo-Bo are just so excited about Christmas they have already hung up their stockings!
Bo-Bo bunny has woken Edgar three nights in a row as he thinks he can hear sleigh bells.
Edgar is one of our larger mohair bears around 12".
He wears vintage flannel striped pyjamas and holds his tin chamber stick by which to read his comic book.His companion is Bo-Bo a vintage wool bunny with silk lined ears.
This special bedtime set was created using a vintage handpainted metal bed to which I tailor made a striped ticking mattress and stuffed with goose feathers.The bed linen was made from vintage french cottons and lace.
Edgar and Bo-Bo are already adopted but I wanted to share them here on the blog.

Mouse Pirates

*Ahoy There Ship Mates*

These Pirate Mice have already set sail in their vintage clog to the Puppenhausmuseum in Basel Switzerland.

I am sure that some of my inspiration for these Mousey Pirates came from our family holidays in beautiful Cornwall with its history of pirates and smugglers.

But I have to admit that I have been probably watching too many films starring a certain Johnny Depp.x

Fleurette was one of our tiny miniature bears from our latest collection.

8" Yorkshire Terrier Puppy

One of our latest designs Anoushka is made from quality German mohair in golden auburn colour.I have used different lengths of mohair for the coat and have added airbrushed black markings.

Anoushka has antique brown glass eyes which are set in leather eyelids,moveable bottom jaw and poseable ears and front legs.

Her paw pads are sculpted and made from vintage black suede and have lots of detail.

Anoushka has a antique silk coral pink ribbon with silver vintage heart with the intial A.

Introducing Bear Hugs the latest lino cut print from my husband Simon Strethill-Smith.

A three colour print made from two separate blocks using golden brown,prussian blue and

chocolate brown inks.The teddy bears that stood for this pose in this print were Tick Tock and Rigger.

This print is a limited edition available from our Etsy shop.Inkypie Linocut.

Marco is off to the beach this weekend ready for a dip in the sea....how very brave he is!

Marco is our latest 9" Teddy Bear design made from quality German mohair that I have tinted and aged to give the appearance of a very old bear.

He has a wobble neck joint and centre head seam ,antique boot button eyes with spoon shaped arms and hump back.Stuffed with wood wool and weighted with steel shot.

Marco is wearing a vintage fine wool bathing costume in dark navy and cream trimmed with old pearl buttons and vintage metal anchor.

His outfit can be removed and wrung out to dry after swimming!

Limited Edition . ADOPTED.

Lino cut print of *Boulee* by Simon Strethill-Smith

Today I am featuring Simon's latest lino cut prints.

Boulee our French bulldog design has been created into a lino cut print,carved and printed by hand using two separate blocks of lino.
The print is 6 colours and is signed in pencil and numbered.
Limited Edition of 50 printed on Saunders waterford paper 190gms.

French Bulldogs are a truly special breed and are such characters.
This French Bulldog Boulee wears a ruffle and a tiny hat he is to be found at the base of the famous Eiffel Tower.
I imagine him dancing and doing tricks for treats while his owner plays the accordion.

Vintage Style French Bulldog "Boulee"

Introducing....... *BOULEE*

our latest Vintage Style French Bulldog

Boulee measures 9" high in a sitting position and is created from vintage velvet plush in old cream and black.

He has a sculpted and then pressed vintage leather muzzle to which I have over aged and added hand painted details.

His glass eyes are also a vintage flea market find to which I have added painted highlights.

Boulee has wired pose able ears which are lined with antique black suede.He is fully jointed and stuffed with wood wool and cotton with steel shot for extra weight. His paw pads are also sculpted first and then pressed using vintage leather to which I have tinted and aged further.

Boulee wears a felt hat with red heart button with a french blue and white ruffle and silk pom pom.

Please contact me should you wish to be his new owner.(Adopted.)

Treacle is a 4.5" miniature teddy bear created from genuine antique mohair.

This fabulous antique mohair was sourced from a brocante in France.

Treacle has a wonderful golden colour fur just like old fashioned treacle tart.

I have designed Treacle with a centre head seam and a wobble neck joint.

He is filled with wood wool and steel shot for a little weight.

He is a limited edition of 10. Orders now being taken.

Hello Treacle is a London cockney rhyming slang and is a term of endearment!
