Christmas Collection 2014
Welcome to our Christmas Collection....
ANGEL
ANGEL
Angel is 6.5"high and created from genuine antique mohair in off white.
I have further aged and tinted her fur to give the charm of a antique bear.
She is stuffed with wood wool and has shiny glass eyes.
She has our own sculpted gold leather and alpaca trimmed angel wings.
These are tied on with antique gold and silk cord they can be removed when she is resting.
Angel wears a vintage silver french religious medallion of Sanctus Michael Archangels.
She has a vintage lace skirt which is embellished with gold sequins and rhinestones.

Old Nutmeg is 4.5" high and created from antique mohair in cinnamon colour.
I have further tinted his fur to give the appearance of a very old vintage bear.
Old Nutmeg has a centre seam head with wobble neck joint and shiny glass eyes.
He is stuffed with wood wool and loose jointed so he sits just like an old bear.

Old Douglas is 3.5" high and created from antique mohair in old gold and forest green.
I have aged and tinted his fur to give him a well loved appearance.
He has a wobble neck joint and matt glass eyes.
Old Douglas wears his winter red scarf and carries his Douglas fir xmas tree.

I have aged and tinted his fur with darker tints.
He is a new centre seam head design the first we had made in this small size.

HOCUS POCUS
Hocus Pocus is 8.5" tall to tip of hat 11."Created from vintage long pile plush.
I have aged and airbrushed his fur with darker tones.Center head seam and wobble neck joint.
Antique boot button eyes with vintage thread stitched nose.
Hocus Pocus wears a vintage lace and trim spooky hat trimmed with antique jet star button.
The ruffle around his neck is made from layers of antique voile and vintage burnt orange crochet lace trimmed with victorian jet button with half moon design and more spotted antique lace.These are removable.
Hocus pocus wand is made from antique paper with hand written french handwriting,trimmed with lace and with large antique jet half moon embellishment.

NEPHELE
Nephele is 4.5"high and created from genuine antique mohair in a soft faded cinnamon.
He has a long cone shaped nose with center seam,wobble neck joint and black shiny glass eyes.
I have stitched his nose with a dark grey,faded black thread .
Aged and airbrushed with darker sepia tones.
He stuffed like a traditional antique bear with super fine wood wool and weighted with a little steel shot.

SPOOKY BOO KITTY
SPOOKY BOO KITTY
Spooky Boo Kitty is 7" high 8.5" to tip of hat.Created from vintage plush in midnight blue/black.
The original fur colour was a dark midnight blue and I have airbrushed black tones.
It looks more black but has spooky blue undertones.
Spooky Boo has a facial head sculpt mold and has hand painted aged yellow eyes
with dark orange stitched nose.
I have given her white vintage linen thread whiskers as this and her eyes give her the appearance very like the black cats depicted in antique halloween postcards.
She has wired ears which are silk lined and airbrushed and tinted,sculpted paw pads in soft vintage suede.
Her leather shoes are our newest design in our fairy tale design long and more pointy than our slippers.
We have made them from purple leather which is over stained with black giving a very nice dark purple.
Her dress is brushed cotton with tiny black flower print,trimmed with vintage lace and velvet ribbon trim.
Her hat is made from wool felt and trimmed with buckle,it is removable.Around her neck is silk ribbon in bright orange,and she also carries a vintage metal lucky horseshoe trimmed
with antique velvet flower and lace.

MR PUMPKIN
Mr Pumkin is 3" high and created from genuine antique mohair in vibrant orange fur with beige background.
Mr Pumkin has well loved fur and the look of a very old bear.
One of our tiniest miniature bears that we make.
He has a wobble neck joint,matt glass eyes,black stitched nose.
His fur is the perfect colour choice for your halloween decorations.

I have stitched his nose from grey/faded black stitched thread.
He is stuffed with wood wool and slightly weighted with steel shot.
Pumpkin Jack sits inside his spooky little antique powder box
which i have lined with paper with french writing script.
The box has gold writing which says Vinola Powder,Blondeau London,Paris,New York.
I have also made him his own little felt pumkin from wool felt.

DESDEMONE
Desdemona is 3.5" high created from antique mohair in a aged copper cinnamon colour
to which i have airbrushed darker sepia tones
She has a wobble neck joint long thin nose and shiny black glass eyes.
Desdemona fits inside a vintage leather purse which i have trimmed with braid
and added vintage velvet and felt flower posy.
She wears a black silk ribbon trimmed with antique jet star button.

Kensington Show & New Autumn Designs
New Autumn Designs
Here are some of the designs that we took to Hugglets Teddies Kensington Show.
It was a lovely day and would like to thank everyone who adopted a bear or just came to say hello.

Along with our vintage look bears we also exhibited some woodland characters
Mr Fox and Dapper Deer certainly got lots of compliments.
Old Byron
7" high created from genuine antique mohair with a sparce long pile in old gold.
This well loved bear is loosely jointed with a wobble neck joint.
Old Byron is made from very old mohair so has the feel and of a antique bear.

Mr Fox
Mr Fox stands 8.5" high and created from antique mohair which has been airbrushed reddish brown with dark brown accents.
Our woodland gentleman fox is created using our own sculpting techniques which give this chap his wonderful expression.
Mr fox is fully jointed has glass topaz eyes and pose able wired ears.
Dressed in velvet green tail coat lined with striped silk,with matching silk waistcoat trimmed miniature brass buttons.His jaunty topper is made from antique millinery velvet with silk headband,
vintage brass bird and feather.Mr Fox wears our trademark shoes which are hand stitched and made from vintage dark brown leather long thin boots.
These are a new design made for this autumn collection.

Old Waldo is 3.5" high miniature bear created from antique mohair which is lovingly worn away in places.
He has matt glass eyes and a wobble neck joint.Stuffed with wood wool shavings and steel shot.

Archer is 3.5" tall and is created from aged German mohair in antique gold.
He wears checked cotton trousers and vintage velvet waistcoat trimmed with tiny brass buttons.
Archer wears our trademark leather shoes hand stitched and created from vintage brown leather.

Dapper Deer
Dapper Deer stands 8.5 tall and is created from vintage plush.
This woodland gentleman deer has glass hazel brown eyes complete with eyelids,eyelashes and black waxed thread nose.His antlers are wired as are his ears which are lined with silk velvet and brushed with pink.
I have airbrushed Dapper Deer a fawn brown with darker brown paws and spotted white head markings.
He wears a vintage Scottish Pitlochry tweed country jacket with moss green felt waistcoat trimmed with tiny brass buttons.His stiff collar is created from a old gents Edwardian collar.
Dapper Deer stands in his vintage brown leather shoes which we have hand sculpted and made especially for him.

Housey Mousey
Housey Mousey is 3" tall and created from antique mohair in acorn brown.
She is fully jointed and has shiny glass eyes, a sculpted pink nose with whiskers.
Housey Mousey lives in a little tree house with twig bed and dressing table.
In her house are lots of objects lost & found in a woodland.
Feathers,fur cones,moss and dried flowers adorn her tiny little house,
which lights up inside with tiny fairy lights

Cotton Socks is 6.5" tall and created from soft aplaca and airbrushed two tones of grey.
This Kitty has green/blue glass eyes and a sculpted muzzle in silk velvet.
Cotton Socks has wired ears lined with silk velvet and blushed with pink.
Her paws are made from sculpted wool felt and tinted.
Her tail is made from long pile alpaca fur and is wired so can be posed.
She is wearing our trademark vintage cream leather shoes hand stitched with leather soles.

Welcome to our Vintage Summer Collection

Old Blu is 7" high and created from vintage plush in pale sky blue.
I have further aged and tinted his fur in darker shades.
Old Blu is softly stuffed with wood wool which gives him a saggy tummy.
He is loosely jointed with a wobble neck joint.
Adorned with vintage ribbon and victorian Austrian tiny button.

Nyle is 6.5" high and created from antique mohair in chalk white.
I have further aged and tinted his fur in places.He is loosely jointed and has a wobble neck joint.He is stuffed with wood wool and has crunchy feel to him.I have added some steel pellets for a little weight.
Nyle wears vintage linen sailor jacket in old white and palest blue.
I have trimmed the collar and cuffs with antique braid and added antique linen buttons and a french embroidered monogram with the letter N .

Tatiana is 5" tall created from german mohair in old gold.
I have aged and distressed her fur and further tinted with darker shades to give the appearance of an old bear.
Tatiana has a centre head seam with wobble neck joint and matt glass eyes.
Her dress is made from antique cotton embroidery anglais and is trimmed with pale pink vintage satin ribbon.
She wears a vintage summer floral head band which can be removed.

This cute panda design is inspired vintage 1950's toy panda's
with the shorter arms and legs.

Hello I am a soft sculpture teddy bear artist/designer creating vintage looking teddy bears and animal characters. I love using antique fabrics and trimmings and spend many happy hours looking for these treasures! The Teddy Bears I make have the look of well loved and cherished companions.I use antique mohair and vintage plush I adore the look of early old antique bears from Germany and ours have all the same attributes of those traditional classic bears with long arms and spoon shaped paws,centre seam noses,boot button eyes and with a slight raised hump on the back.We are delighted that a large collection of our designs are on display at the wonderful spielzeug-welten-museum-Basel Switzerland and the Izu Museum Tokyo Japan I hope you enjoy my blog....thank you for visiting.
