We are a husband and wife team making soft sculpture art designs in mixed media.
We work together on an antique partner's desk and pass our work backwards and forward to each other.
We design and create miniature teddy bears from antique or hand-dyed mohair and plush.
Simon is the shoemaker in chief, sculptor, woodcarver and can also sew very tiny stitches.
I design and sew and make the clothing after carefully selecting antique fabrics, trims and props.
I enjoy the process of hand-dying fabrics to faded hues, age and distress the mohair and colour tint using airbrushes and paints.
We love making traditional antique looking bears and like to dress them in all manner of costumes and finery.
I love to use antique textiles or vintage fabrics in silks, old velvet and oriental brocade.
I repurpose old sailor's collars, antique gentlemen's waistcoats, victorian ladies bonnets and shawls.
The tiny shoes were created and sculpted by Simon from an engineering background. He then makes metal moulds uses vintage leather, felt, velvet, brocade and hand-stitches with leather soles.
We also create animal art doll sculptures much larger in size based on anthropomorphic animal characters.
These animal art doll sculptures have internal sculpted faces fully wired armature. These characters seem to take on a persona of their own we like to give them the best antique buttons, brooches, accessories and props.
I collect vintage fashion fabrics and have styled some later designs in a hippy 70's style or gipsy boho palm readers.
Other art designs we have created are sculpted textile wall art using antique frames and bubble glass to give a mysterious effect.
Our latest work includes art doll birds with sculpted wings and tail feathers with hand-carved beaks and those shoes.
Our designs are available on our regular online blog shows are one-off designs and some small limited editions.
